Pastoral Care

At Springfield, we believe that academic success is inextricably linked to emotional well-being. Our robust pastoral care system is designed to provide every student with a comprehensive safety net, ensuring they feel known, valued, and supported at school.

While we have specialist teams in place, we pride ourselves on a culture where pastoral care is everyone’s responsibility. From the classroom teacher to our support staff, every adult in our building is committed to the welfare and happiness of our pupils, ensuring that no child ever feels invisible.

This holistic approach is underpinned by our dedicated specialist team:

  • Heads of Achievement - These leaders oversee the academic and personal progress of each year group, setting high expectations while removing barriers to learning.

  • Pastoral Managers (Non-Teaching) - By having dedicated staff available throughout the school day, we ensure that social or emotional needs can be addressed immediately, providing a consistent point of contact for both students and families.

  • Tutors - As the first point of daily contact, Tutors build deep, lasting relationships with their tutees, fostering a sense of belonging and community from the start of each school day.

Through our school-wide commitment to student welfare, we ensure that every student has the stability and guidance necessary to succeed.

We have a number of first aid qualified staff on site.  Primarily, first aid and medical support is provided by the dedicated team based in the Welfare Room.  Our therapy dog, Bonnie, pops into school regularly to cheer up staff and students alike!

Through our school-wide commitment to student welfare, we ensure that every student has the stability and guidance necessary to succeed.
