Starting School
Led by the Head of Achievement, David Peachment, our dedicated Year 7 pastoral team, and Tutor Group Assistants (from Year 10), the transition programme begins the moment a place is allocated to a student in Year 6. Our support system focuses on helping students grow in confidence, build lasting friendships, and develop strong bonds with their Tutors and other staff. Our core expectations - Ready, Respectful, Safe - guide everything we do to create a kind, focused community within the cohort.
We believe students flourish through a strong partnership between home and school. We host 'Meet the Tutor' events and Subject Parents' Evenings to provide clear insights into your child’s progress and offer practical ways to support their learning. We warmly encourage open communication with Tutors via contact@springfield.uk.net, and look forward to walking alongside your child during this exciting new chapter in their schooling.

houses
Springfield's Houses provide a structured system through which students develop leadership skills, engage in healthy competition, and build meaningful connections across all year groups. When students join the school in Year 7 their Tutor Group is assigned to a House; and students are encouraged to start earning House Points as soon as possible in order to receive their esteemed enamel House Badge!
Our five Houses are named after significant figures selected by our students for their 'modernist spirit', and their diverse contributions to history, science, and the arts. These interesting historical pioneers reflect the breadth of the school's curriculum and some of the values we instill in our pupils.
